Fabian Kobs

From a young age, Fabian was fascinated by capturing moments, stories, emotions, and fleeting glimpses of life. His father’s old DVI camera quickly became one of his favorite toys. What once began as play soon turned into a passion: the art of filmmaking, storytelling through light, movement, and sound.

A defining experience was the FilmCamp in his hometown. There, Fabian discovered the many departments involved in film production—from directing and cinematography to acting and editing. Those days on set made him realize that film is far more than just a sequence of images. It is teamwork, emotion, and a unique interplay of art and craft. It was there that the desire to become part of this world began to grow.

Throughout his school years, the camera was always by his side. He created small short films again and again—sometimes spontaneous, sometimes carefully planned—but always with the goal of capturing emotions and touching people. Every project was a small experiment for him, another step toward finding his own cinematic voice.

After finishing school, Fabian decided to pursue this path professionally and began an apprenticeship as a media designer for image and sound at Bildmanufaktur in Stuttgart-Ost. During these three years, he not only learned the technical foundations but also how to tell stories through images without relying on many words. It was the time when passion became vocation.

Today, Fabian works as a freelance filmmaker, with a clear eye for atmosphere, authenticity, and emotion. He loves shaping stories through images, creating moods, and reaching people on a deeper level.

At 23, he is still at the beginning of his journey—curious, bold, and full of ideas. For him, every film is a new adventure, every camera angle a chance to see the world a little differently. And who knows where this journey will take him next.
